Benjamin Duick8 Whitney (Asa7, Elisha6, Elijah5, Daniel4, John3, John2, John1), son of Asa7 and Mary (Hammond) Whitney, was born 10 Nov 1807, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died 24 Feb 1892, Cambridge, MA, aged 84 years 3 months 14 days, of old age.[2]

He "of Boston" married firstly, 20 Sep 1830, Northborough, MA, Elizabeth Williams,[3] daughter of Stephen and Alice (Orne) Williams. She was born 25 May 1805, Northborough, MA, and died 24 Apr 1849, Boston, MA, aged 43 years, of consumption.[4] She was buried in Cambridge, MA.[5]

He married secondly, 5 Feb 1863, Vicksburg, MS, Charlotte E. Genella. She was born 21 Nov 1842, and died 6 Sep 1865.

He graduated at Harvard college in the class of 1828, with R. C. Winthrop and Dr. Bowditch, of Boston. He was for many years a Boston merchant, and was later in New Orleans, Vicksburg and Washington. His children lived in Cambridge, and he spent the last years of his life in their home filled with tender associations. He retained a strong interest in his alma mater and in his classmates to the end of his life. He resided Vicksburg, MS.

a. Jeffries Wyman, b. 3 Feb 1864; m. 1 Jun 1892, Helen Mackey; b. 30 Jul 1867; is with the Bell Telephone County, in Boston, MA.
