Benjamin Franklin7 Whitney (Joseph Lee6, Jeremiah5, Jeremiah4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Joseph Lee6 and Phebe (Mead) Whitney, was born 28 Apr 1830, Reading, NY, and died 9 Jan 1906, Machias, NY. He was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias, NY.[1]

He married, 6 Jul 1854, Arcade, NY, Lurinda Adeline Haggerty, daughter of Reynold and Sarah Ann (Perkins) Haggerty. She was born 13 Jul 1834, Ellisburgh, NY, and died 20 Dec 1914, Machias, NY. She was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias, NY.[2]

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a farmer . . . . They dwelt for nine years at Sardinia, N.Y.; nine years at Yorkshire, N.Y.; and three years at Machias, N.Y., which was their home in Aug. 1875."
