Bernard1 Whitney, parentage unknown, was born Jan 1830, Ireland, and died 28 Dec 1906, Stoughton, MA, aged 79 years, of influenza.[1] He was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Stoughton, MA.

He married, 23 Feb 1852, Ardcarn and Tuamna, co. Roscommon, Ireland, Catherine Sweeney, daughter of James and Mary (Camiskey).[2] She was born about 1833, and died 31 May 1898, North Brookfield, MA.[3]

According to the 1900 census, he immigrated in 1849.

There seem to be two individuals with the same name and approximately the same age here: One who came to America in 1849, was single, and lived and died in Stoughton, MA; and the other who remained in Ireland, married Catherine Sweeney, and probably died between 1871 and 1883.
