Cassius M.⁸ Whitney (George Gale⁷, Stephen⁶, Samuel⁵, John⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of George Gale⁷ and Sally McNitt (Hawkins) Whitney, was born 29 Sep 1846, and died 27 Jun 1888, Lewistown, IL. He was buried in Oak Hill cemetery, Lewistown, IL.^[1]

He married, 10 Oct 1873, Henderson, NY, Adelia Gleason, daughter of Nathaniel and Fanny (Smith) Gleason, of Henderson. She was born 12 Nov 1850, Henderson, NY, and died after 1900.

He was a farmer. They settled at Henderson, and were living there in June 1877.
