Cecil Calvin8 Whitney (Calvin7, David6, Nathan5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Calvin7 and Huldah (Brown) Whitney, was born 5 Jan 1848, Westminster, MA, and died 1937, Westminster, MA.

He married, 5 or 10 Jun 1879, Eldora J. Gates, daughter of Leonard M. and Eliza A. (Peabody) Gates.[1] She was born 8 Mar 1856, Westminster, MA, and died 7 Nov 1897, Fitchburg, MA, aged 41 years 7 months 29 days, of consumption.[2]

He resided 4 Taft St., Fitchburg, MA.

Heywood says the following:[3]

"Whitney, Cecil C.8, s. of Calvin7 and Huldah, m. Eldora J. (27), dau. of Leonard M. Gates, June 5, 1879. They res. in W. a few years, then rem. to Fg., their present home."
