Charles H. Whitney (Nathaniel), son of Nathaniel and Charlotte (Cook) Whitney, was 15 Sep 1828,[1] ME, and died 16 Sep 1885, Vancouver, Washington Territory.

He married firstly, 8 Dec 1850, Searsport, ME, Hannah P. Porter,[2] only daughter of Josiah and Lucy Porter. She died 26 May 1854, Searsport, ME.[3]

He married secondly, 8 Jun 1856, Searsport, ME, Caroline Nichols, "both of Searsport".[4][5]

Hannah was received [in the Searsport Church] 22 Mar 1840, 13 years, and excommunicated 13 May 1852.[6]

In 1863, he was liable to enroll in the militia.[7] About 1865, he and his family left Searsport, ME,[8] presumably for Vancouver.

i. Josiah Frederick Whitney, b. ca. 1851, ME; d. after 1870.
ii. Natty W. Whitney, b. ca. 1852, d. 23 Mar 1854.[9]
