Charles Irving9 Whitney (Elbert George8, Eleazer7, Eleazer6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Elbert George8 and Isabella (Edgerton) Whitney, was born 4 Oct 1875, Buckland or Shelburne Falls, MA,[1] and died 7 Dec 1910, Springfield, MA. aged 34 years 2 months 3 days, of lobar pneumonia.[2] He was buried in Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, MA.

He married, 18 Jul 1899, Northampton, MA [recorded Springfield, MA], Elizabeth Catherine Winter, daughter of Ormsby and Mary (Murray) Winter.[3] She was born 24 Aug 1875, Ireland, and died 23 Apr 1919, Springfield, MA, aged 43 years 7 months 30 days, of pulmonary tuberculosis. They were divorced, per his death record, but she is called widow of Charles I. Whitney on hers. She was buried in Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, MA.

He lived at 73 Main St., Springfield, MA, in 1902; 23 No. Main St., Springfield, MA, in 1899; 29 Auburn St., Springfield, MA, in 1906; 39 Manhattan St., Springfield, MA, in 1908; 37 Fremont St. Springfield, MA, in 1909; and 162 William St., Springfield, MA, in 1910.

iii. George Nelson Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1908 [given name omitted], Springfield, MA;[6] d. 2 Apr 1909, Springfield, MA, aged 5 months, of pneumonia.[7] He was born in Springfield Cemetery.
