Daniel Henshaw9 Whitney (Daniel Henshaw8, Daniel7, Samuel6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Daniel Henshaw8 and Eva Rosina (Baeder) Whitney, was born 27 Jan 1867, Green Bay, WI, and died 11 Nov 1951, Philadelphia, PA. He was buried in .[1]

He married, 7 Oct 1895, Philadelphia, PA, Caroline Ely Knorr. She was born 13 Jan 1873, and died 4 Jul 1960, Horsham, PA. She was buried in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.[2]

He resided Philadelphia, PA, with uncle William B. Whitney.

"Daniel Whitney was born three months after his father passed away. His father, Daniel Henshaw Whitney, was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, June 7, 1827, and traces his ancestry back to one of the old New England families. His were the unusual experiences of one who is reared upon the frontier and he lived to become well known, influencial and prominent citizen of Calumet county, Wisconsin. He was well educated and possessed sound business principles and practical judgment. He filled the office of register of deeds in Calumet county in 1849-50 and was renowned for his beautiful penmenship, which was considered a high accomplishment in the days of pioneerdom. The records show he was painstaking and trustworthy. Of him it was said: "A more whole-souled, warm hearted man or obliging neighbor never lived." For sometime he was proprietor of Whitney's landing at Stockbridge. He married March 10, 1863, to Eva Rosina Baeder (Rose Bader), who was born October 21, 1838 in Stuttgart, the capital of Wurtemberg, Germany. They settled in Stockbridge, Wisconsin and had two children: Daniel's sister Emmeline Stillman Whitney, born October 28, 1865, now residing in Green Bay married to S. A. Bell; and Daniel, born born January 27, 1867, now living in Philadelphia."[3]
