Darius7 F. Whitney (Abraham6, Richard5, Israel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Abraham6 and Betsey (------) Whitney, was born circa 1807, VT, and died 26 Aug 1864, Fairfax Seminary Hospital, Alexandria, VA.[1] He is buried in Alexandria National Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.[2]

He married circa 1832, NY, Loanna Cook, daughter of Amsey and ------ (------) Cook. She was born 9 Nov 1815, Chemung Co., NY, and died 19 Feb 1903, Laingsburg, MI.[3]

Darius enlisted in Co. I, 27th Michigan Infantry, Dec 1863, and died of Typhoid Fever in Alexandria, VA.

Note: There are conflicting records regarding his date of death; 26 Aug 1864 and 11 Oct 1864. The later may be the date of re-internment at Alexandria National Cemetery.
