David5 Whitney (Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Benjamin4 and Sarah (Barrett) Whitney, was born 21 Jan 1716/7, Marlborough, MA,[1] or 21 Jun 1717, Marlborough, MA, and died before 1739.[2]

David married, before 1736, Mercy Goodnow, daughter of Edmund and Rebecca (Graves) Goodnow. She was born 13 Mar 1715, Sudbury, Massachusetts. She married secondly, 1 Mar 1738/9, Sudbury, MA, Joseph "Wooly". Joseph Woolley, son of Thomas and Mary (Chamberlain) Woolley, was born 23 Jan 1699/1700, Concord, MA, and died about 1783, possibly at Princeton, MA.

Both owned the covenant on 20 Jun 1736, Hollis Street Church, Boston, MA.[3]
