Edgar LeRoy Whitney (Annas Spears, Aaron, [poss.] Jonathan⁵, Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Annas Spears and Drusilla (Wright) Whitney, was born 26 Aug 1846, ME, and died between 1880 and 1900.

He married, 24 Dec 1871, Dexter, ME, Alice Bernice Crockett daughter of Silas and Lydia Stetson (Beal) Crockett. She was born 9 Apr 1852, ME, and died after 1900.

iii.	Elmer LeRoy Whitney, b. 19 Dec 1876, Dexter, ME; m.(1) 1 Feb 1902, Corinna, ME, Leila May Proctor; they were apparently divorced, and she m.(2) before 1920, James E. Crowley; he m.(2) 7 May 1916, Corinna, ME, Edith M. Dearborn, d. 1929, bur. Village Cemetery, Corinna, ME.
iv.	Lizzie M. Whitney, b. ca. 1878, ME.
