Ellis⁸ Whitney (Jeremiah⁷, Jeremiah⁶, Jeremiah⁵, Jeremiah⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of Jeremiah⁷ and Sarah (Goodwin) Whitney, was born 13 May 1851, Middlebury, PA, and died after 1892.

He married firstly, before 1878, Della/Delilah Shellman, daughter of Jerry and Elisabeth (-----) Shellman. She was born about 1860, and died after 1910. They must have been divorced, since both remarried. She married secondly, about 1885, John Nusom.

He married secondly, about 1880, Lillia/Lily/Nell Frie/Friar, daughter of William and Jennie (-----) Frie/Friar. She was born Feb 1867, NY, and died after 1900.
