He married firstly, 9 Nov 1911, Delaware County, Indiana, Kathryn Bohlender. She was born 1887, Ohio, and died 1950, Florida. She divorced Elwood in about 1920.
He married secondly, 11 Oct 1926, Henry Co., IN, Cleda C. Strong, daughter of Oren Merenda and Ella (Darley) Strong. She was born 1 Mar 1903, Muncie, IN.
Children of Elwood9 and Kathryn (Bohlender) Whitney:
i. Clarence William10 Whitney, b. 27 Jul 1912. ii. Frederick Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1915, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana; d. 1982, Florida.
Children of Elwood9 and Cleda C. (Strong) Whitney, if any, unknown.
