He "Ens." married, 28 May 1826, Corinth, ME, Nancy Fisher Skinner "both of Corinth",[1] daughter of Elijah and Sarah (Fisher) Skinner. She was born 25 May 1806, Corinth, ME,[2] and died 10 Mar 1886, CA.
About the year 1822 he bought land in East Corinth, ME, where he lived until the fall of 1875, when he moved to Santa Cruz, CA, where he died. He was a farmer; he resided Corinth, ME, and Santa Cruz, CA.

Elijah Skinner Whitney, b. 4 Oct 1834, Corinth, ME; m. 8 Dec 1858, East Corinth, ME, Allaseba T. French;[5] b. 18 Dec 1834, s. p. He is a merchant, and resided Los Gatos, CA. He was born in Corinth, ME; commenced a mercantile business in Corinth, ME, in the fall of 1860, and continued in said business until the fall of 1875, when he moved to Santa Cruz, CA, where he lived ten years, after which he moved to Los Gatos, CA, where he engaged in mercantile, real estate, and railway business. In the year of 1887 he was made excursion agent of the Union Pacific Railway. He has made forty-five trips across the continent from one ocean to the other, besides other partial trips. Is now passenger agent of the Northern Pacific Railway at Los Gatos, CA. iv. Daniel Elmon Whitney, b. 13 Nov 1833; d. 3 May 1835. He is buried in the Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth, ME. v. Alvin W. Whitney, b. 27 May 1838; m. Louise Mcdonald. vi. Mary Jane Whitney, b. 13 May 1840; m. 12 May 1875, George P. Lake; resided Santa Cruz, CA. vii. Nancy Whitney, b. 1 Jun 1843; d. 3 Jun 1843. She is buried in the Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth, ME. viii. Eudora Melissa Whitney, b. 13 Oct 1847; "of Corinth" m. 19 Mar 1874, Bangor, ME, Henry W. Silsby "of Aurora";[6] resided San Francisco, CA, 621 1/2 Post street.
