Eugene Francis8 Whitney (Jesse7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jesse7 and Rebecca (Newell) Whitney, was born 7 Feb 1834, Nashua, NH, and died after 1900.

He married, 1 Mar 1860, Nashua, NH, Carrie H. Clark.[1] She was born 14 Nov 1831, NH, and died after 1880 and before 1900.

He was educated in the public schools at Nashua. At the age of 17 commenced to learn the trade of a molder of machinery castings; at the age of 21 had charge of a boiler and foundry works in New York City. In 1887, worked in Atlanta, Georgia and Knoxville, TN. From there had a call as superintendent of the Nashua Foundry Company at Nashua, NH, which position he has held 26 years. Has held important offices in the city, minor offices, besides a member of the board of education, common council 2 years, 1 year as president of the board, 2 years as alderman and now chairman of the board of assessors, which position he has held for 6 years and re-elected for a tern of 2 years. He is prominent in the various-financial charitable and other institutions in the city, is high honored, and has the respect and esteem of his fellow citizens. Republican in politics; resided Nashua, NH.
