Dr. Frederick Waldo9 Whitney (George E.8, Smyrna7, Samuel6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of George E.8 and Sarah J. (Tolman) Whitney, was born 8 Aug 1854, Fitchburg, MA,[1] and died 17 May 1927, New York, NY.[2]

He married firstly, 6 Sep 1876, Chelsea, MA, Celia E. Smith, daughter of Joseph D. and Tamesin (-----) Smith.[3] She was born about 1849, West Harwich, MA, and died 4 Apr 1883, Acton, MA, aged 34 years, of typhoid pneumonia,[4] s. p.

He "of Sherburn, N.Y." married secondly, 9 Sep 1884, Acton, MA, Emma Frances Estabrook, daughter of Joseph and Nancy (Raymond) Estabrook.[5] She was born 11 Jul 1855, Acton, MA, and died 27 Nov 1927, Athens, GA; they were divorced.

He resided Rapid City, SD, and Blythebourne, NY.

Frederick Waldo9 and Celia E. (Smith) Whitney had no children.

On 6 Sep 1923, in New York Co., NY, he was convicted of manslaughter in the second degree. He was age 69, a physician, born Fitchburg, MA, living at 75 Mulberry St., Newark, NJ, and had one child. His sentence was 4 years 6 months in Sing Sing Prison, where he was incarcerated on 11 Sep 1923.[7]
