George⁹ Whitney (George⁸, Joshua⁷, Joshua⁶, Thomas⁵, William⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of George⁸ and Sophia Silk (Evans) Whitney, was born 12 Feb 1839, and died 3 Mar 1899, Binghamton, NY.^[1]

He married firstly, 16 Sep 1869, Flora Adelaide Paddock, daughter of Zachariah and Mary (Graves) Stoddard. She was born about 1845, NY, and died Feb 1871.

He married secondly, Oct 1873, Mary Louise Stoddard, daughter of George Washington and Sarah Guthrie⁸ (Whitney) Stoddard, and granddaughter of William⁷ and Charlotte Green (Park) Whitney. She was born 27 Aug 1847, Triangle, NY, and died 12 Aug 1910. She was buried in Lisle Village Cemetery, Lisle, NY.^[2]

He was an attorney; resided Binghamton, NY.
