George B. Whitney ([prob.] Benjamin, [poss.] Samuel Kellogg, Benjamin), son of Benjamin and Amelia (Mead) Whitney, was born 18 Aug 1839, and died 24 Nov 1905. He was buried in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.[1]

He married, about 1860, Joanna/Johanna "Josie" Stevens, daughter of Eliphalet B. and ----- (-----) Stevens. She was born 14 Feb 1839, Bridgeport, CT, and died 29 Apr 1912. She was buried in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.[2]

i. Nellie A. Whitney, b. 27 May 1861, CT; d. 17 Dec 1913; bur. Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT;[3] m. Alfred S. Parsons.

For some unknown reason, George was not living with either parent in any census after 1840.
