George Barbour9 Whitney (Felix Grundy8, Martin7, James6, Benjamin5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Felix Grundy8 and Catherine G. (Briggs) Whitney, was born 6 Nov 1852, Attleborough, MA.[1]

He married firstly, 30 Jan 1878, Attleborough, MA (also recorded at Edgartown, MA), Annie L. Norton, daughter of Shubael L. and Phebe A. (Davis) Norton.[2] She was born 1855, Edgartown, MA, and died 6 Jan 1884.

He married secondly, 7 Nov 1886, Mary L. Bickford. She was born 8 Aug 1861, and died 25 Mar 1892, s. p.

He was born in North Attleborough, MA; was educated at the public schools there, at Dean academy, Franklin, MA, Goddard seminary, Barre, VT and Tufts college, Somerville, MA. He then returned to North Attleborough, engaged in business with his father until 1888, when he went to Rico, CA, and engaged in mining. At present he is manufacturers agent for an eastern jewelry house in Chicago; resided Chicago, IL, 115 Dearborn St., room 118.

i. Gertrude10 Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1880, Attleborough, MA;[3] resided Cottage City, MA.
