Capt. George Eli9 Whitney (John Webster Perkins8, Aaron7, Aaron6, Levi5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of John Webster Perkins8 and Olive Elizabeth (Springer) Whitney, was born 10 Jun 1862, Boston, MA,[1] and died 4 Dec 1963, Manchester, NH.
He married firstly, 2 Apr 1890, Boston, MA [also recorded at Somerville, MA], Ida Tufts, daughter of Charles H. and Ellen (Burbank) Tufts.[2] She was born about 1868, Somerville, MA, and died 5 Apr 1891, Boston, MA. aged 23 years 3 months, of puerperal fever with pelvic peritonitis.[3]
He married secondly, 10 Feb 1894, Boston, MA, or East Boston, MA [recorded at Salem, MA], Annie M. Savory, of Salem, MA, daughter of Moses and Emma (-----) Savory.[4] She was born about 1876, Bath, ME.
He married thirdly, about 1911, Mystic, CT, Mary L. Driscoll.
He is captain of the steamer City of Portsmouth; resided East Boston, MA, Mayo's wharf.
In 1890 he was a marine engineer, living in Boston, MA. In 1891 he lived at 263 Webster St.,Boston, MA. In 1894 he was a machinist, living in Boston, MA. In 1897-1899 he was a mechanical engineer and machinist living at 88 Falcon St., Boston, MA.
