George Fenn8 Whitney (George7, Silas6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of George7 and Pamela Fellowes (Fenn) Whitney, was born 29 Feb 1820, Stockbridge, MA, and died 14 Oct 1893, Stockbridge, MA, aged 73 years 8 months, of senility.[1] He was buried in Stockbridge, MA.
He married, 23 Apr 1845, Stockbridge, MA, Mary E. Lynch, of Bridgeport, CT, daughter of Deacon Reuben and Sarah (Hosford) Lynch.[2] She was born 22 Sep 1825, Stockbridge, MA, and died 21 Oct 1908, Stockbridge, MA, aged 83 years 1 month, of old age and hepatic carcinoma.[3] She was buried in Stockbridge, MA.
He was born on the old place in Stockbridge. At the early age of six his father died and he resided with his uncle William until his marriage in 1845. He has been a very quiet home body, temperate, industrious and highly esteemed. His death was quite sudden. He was a member of the Congregational church for thirty-five years. He resided Stockbridge, MA.

iii. William F. Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1850, Stockbridge, MA;[8] d. 18 Sep 1854, Stockbridge, MA, aged 4 years, of dysentery.[9] iii. Sarah Hosford Whitney, b. 4 Mar 1854; m. 21 or 23 Apr 1879, Stockbridge, MA, Byron Stedman, of Castleton, NY, b. 13 Nov 1851, Lee, MA, son of Robert and Alvira (-----) Stedman;[10] resided Hudson, NY; a druggist. Children: a. Grace Stedman, b. 5 Apr 1881. b. Mabel Stedman, b. 7 Mar 1884. c. Edith Stedman, b. 23 Apr 1886. d. Louise Stedman, b. 30 Mar 1890.
iv. William Whitney, b. 10 Aug 1857, Stockbridge, MA;[11] d. 20 May 1862, Stockbridge, MA, aged 4 years, of scarlet fever.[12] iv. Pamela Fenn Whitney, b. 1 May 1861, Stockbridge, MA;[13] resided Stockbridge in 1880. v. George Herbert Whitney, b. 18 or 19 Aug 1863, Stockbridge, MA;[14] m. Martha McGiffert. vi.
