George Timothy8 Whitney (Timothy7, Simon6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Timothy7 and Lucy (Bryant) Whitney, was born 4 Apr 1819, Essex, VT, and died 30 Aug 1897, Lowell, MA, aged 78 years 4 months 16 days, of Bright's disease.[1]

He married, 4 Jul 1847, Lowell, Charlotte Maria Brigham, daughter of William and Sophia (Sawyer) Brigham.[2] She was born 23 Mar 1822, Lowell, MA, and died 19 Jul 1895, Lowell, MA, aged 73 years, of apoplexy.[3]

He was a provision dealer, and she a milliner.

He resided 309 Bridge street, Lowell, MA.

ii. George Wilbur Whitney, b. 13 Feb 1852, Dracut, MA;[6] also recorded as George B. Whitney; m. Emma Eva Heath.
iii. Adaline S. Whitney, b. 14 Jan 1856, Dracut, MA; m. 20 May 1879, Lowell, MA, David Nelson Patterson, b. ca. 1855, MA, son of George W. and Julia A. (-----) Patterson;[7] resided 24 W. 6th St., Lowell, MA. Despite the above birth record, she appears in the 1855 state census, aged 8 months.
