Henry Eli8 Whitney (Eli7, James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Eli7 and Dorcas (Austin) Whitney, was born about 1836, NY, and died 28 Jul 1898. He was buried

He married, probably 1870-1872, Sarah (Van Guilder) Ingalls, daughter of Henry and Diana (-----) Van Guilder. She was born Jun 1839, NY, and died 18 Sep 1919. She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.[1] She married firstly, ----- Ingalls, who died between 1866 and 1870, and of whom nothing further has been found.

He served for three years in the war of 1861; resided Elmira, NY.
