Henry S.9 Whitney (Hiram8, John Rodman7, William6, Thomas5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Hiram8 and Charlotte (Appleby) Whitney, was born 2 May 1833, PA, and died 1 Jun 1896, Henrietta, OH. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst, OH.[1]
He married, 12 Apr 1860, Henrietta, OH, Sarah E. Brown, daughter of Hiram Brown. She was born 26 Mar 1839, Henrietta, OH, and died 16 Dec 1915, Toledo, OH. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst, OH.[2]
Henry enlisted for Civil War service as a private, August 9, 1862, in Company F of the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, at Henrietta Township, Lorain County Ohio, for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Blacksmith. He was mustered out at Raleigh, North Carolina, June 12, 1865, with Company F at the end of his term of service.
