Col. Isaac7 Whitney (James6, Benjamin5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James6 and Susanna (Hill) Whitney, was born 4 Sep 1782, Sherborn, MA,[1] and "Esq." died 9 Sep 1844, Sherborn, MA, aged 61 years, married, of consumption.[2]

On 1801, Sherborn, MA, Isaac, Benjamin, and Martin Whitney, sons of James Whitney of Dover, who died June 1800, minors over 14, chose Capt. Peter Twitchell as guardian. On 15 Sep 1801, Sherborn, MA, Peter Twitchell, gentleman, of Sherborn was appointed guardian of Isaac, Benjamin, and James Whitney, sons of James Whitney, yeoman, late of Dover, Norfolk Co., and posted bond, with Daniel Whitney, Esq., and Timothy Hill, yeoman, both of Sherborn, as sureties.

He "of Sherborn" married firstly, 17 Nov 1806, Sudbury, MA, Mary Moore,[3] daughter of Luther and Abigail (Maynard) Whitney. She was born 12 Apr 1787, Wayland, MA, and died 21 Oct 1813, Sherborn, MA, aged 26 years.[4]

He "Capt." "of Sherborn" married secondly, 2 Apr 1815, Milford, MA, Sally T. Thayer,[5] daughter of Elijah and Sarah (Robinson) Thayer. She was born 16 Dec 1785,[6] Milford, MA, and died 26 Jul 1871, Sherborn, MA, aged 85 years 7 months 10 days, of disease of heart and dropsy.[7]

He was born in Sherborn, where he always resided; was a prominent and public-spirited citizen; was colonel of the militia and selectman 1816-18-19-20 and 23. He resided Sherborn, MA.

ii. Martha "Patty" Whitney, b. 1 Dec 1809;[12] d. 1 Dec 1894, Walpole, MA, aged 85 years, of old age;[13] m. ("of Sherborn" int. 11 Aug 1833, Natick, MA[14]) 12 Sep 1833, Sherborn, MA, Moses Stratton "of Natick";[15] resided Natick; both deceased.
iii. Mary Whitney, b. 12 May 1812;[16] m. 4 Jul 1833, Sherborn, MA, Ebenezer Babcock;[17] resided Walpole, MA.
