Family:Whitney, James Lewis (1789-a1840)

James Lewis⁷ Whitney (James⁶, Samuel⁵, Samuel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of James⁶ and Eunice (Johnson) Whitney, was born 29 May 1789, Newtown, CT,^[1] and died after 1840.

He married Maria Cass, daughter of Aaron and Ruth (Bull) Cass.^[2]

He resided Watkins, NY.

Phoenix says the following:

"James Lewis Whitney, b. in Newtown, Conn., 23 May 1789; a blacksmith; married Maria Cass; settled at Watkins, N. Y., where they died and were buried."
