James M.8 Whitney (James7, John6, James5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James7 and Lois (Blodgett) Whitney, was born 27 Sep 1816, Sherborn, MA,[1] and died 21 Jul 1889, Natick, MA, aged 72 years 8 months, of carcinoma of the stomach and phthisis.[2] s.p.

Marriage intentions were published 14 Apr 1844, Natick, MA, for him "Jr." and Mary Ann Clark "of Sherborn".[3] He married, 9 May 1844, Sherborn, MA, Mary Ann Clark, daughter of Alpheus and Nancy (Leland) Clark.[4] She was born Jan 1816, and died after 1880.

He was a well known and respected citizen of Natick and for 17 years was treasurer of the five-cent savings bank there. He resided Natick, MA.
