John Whitney, Gent., parentage unknown, died between 2 Apr and 19 Sep 1821.

He wrote his will 28 Mar 1821 and added a codicil 2 Apr 1821, and it was proved 19 Sep 1821. In his will he mentioned a silver snuff box presented to him by the 71st Regiment. This is perhaps the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot.

He resided New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland.
