John⁶ Whitney (James⁵, James⁴, John³, Jonathan², John¹), son of James⁵ and Patience (Leland) Whitney, was born 10 Mar 1742, Framingham, MA, ^[1] and died 17 Feb 1825, Sherborn, MA, aged 82 years.^[2]

He married, 5 Feb 1767, Sherborn, MA, Hannah Holbrook,^[3] daughter of Nathaniel and Sarah (Sanger) Holbrook. She was born 3 Jun 1741, and died 4 Jun 1826, Sherborn, MA, aged 84 years.^[4]

He was a farmer. He resided Sherborn and Wrentham, MA.
