John7 Whitney (Abner6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Abner6 and Elizabeth (Glazier) Whitney, was born 28 Jul 1772, Westminster, MA.[1]

He married, 4 Feb 1796, Westminster, MA, Susanna Smith.[2] She probably was the Susanna Whitney who married [secondly], 6 Feb 1805, Chester, VT, Timothy Olcott (1770-1844),[3] both of Chester, as his first wife. If so, she died 7 Aug 1810, Chester, VT, leaving a son Sidney Smith Olcott, born about 1806, Chester, VT.

Child of John7 and Susanna (Smith) Whitney:

i. Benjamin8 Whitney, b. 17 Sep 1796, Westminster, MA; m. Mehitable Whitcomb.

Census

  • Neither John nor Susanna has been found in any census record. Possibly one or both had died by 1800, explaining the lack of further children.
