John7 Whitney (Joshua6, Caleb5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Joshua6 and Vashti (Knight) Whitney, was born 21 Apr 1796, Gardner, MA,[1] died 1 Oct 1859, Gardner, MA, aged 63 years 5 months 9 days, of debility.[2]

He married, 6 Jul 1817, Gardner, MA, Rachel Holbrook Osgood.[3] She was born circa 1798,[4] died 7 Mar 1848, Dixborough, Washtenaw Co., MI.[5] She was perhaps the daughter of Joseph and Rachel (Holbrook) Osgood, married 28 Nov 1792, Marlborough, MA.

John Whitney was a cooper and a merchant.
