John Alpheus Whitney (Alpheus Whitney, Henry), son of Alpheus and Sarah Clifford (Fletcher) Whitney, was born 26 July 1846, ME, and died after 1880.

He "of Stockton", ME, married, 9 June 1867, Belfast, ME, Ella A. Kellock "of Belfast",[1] daughter of Horace P. and Phebe S. G. (-----) Kellock. She was born about 29 Mar 1846, Belfast, ME, and "Ellen A." died 1 Jan 1878, Malden, MA, aged 31 years 9 months 2 days, of gastric fever.[2]

He resided in Belfast in 1870, had 2 year old son Arvida; was a house carpenter.
