John H.9 Whitney (Silas8, Silas7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Silas8 and Jemima (Corwin) Whitney, was born Aug 1847, NY, and died after 1900.

He married firstly, 7 Dec 1870, Riverhead, NY, Martha Darraugh/Darrow. She was born Jan 1841, Ireland, and died 9 Mar 1896, Riverhead, NY.

He married secondly, 31 Mar 1897, Flushing, NY, widow Anne S. (-----) Hill.

They were divorced, since she m.(2) 19 Dec 1908, Somerville, MA, George Washington Smith, b. ca. 1866, Bangor, ME, son of Andrew J. and Mary A. (Clark) Smith.[2] She was living in Lowell Ward 8, MA, in 1900, alone, having had no children, immigrated 1890.
