John Osborne⁸ Whitney (John⁷, John⁶, Zachariah⁵, John⁴, Joseph³, John², John¹), son of John⁷ and Sophia (Faulkner) Whitney, was born 12 Jun 1821, MA, and died after 1880.

He married, 25 Mar 1854, Abbie L. Lyon, daughter of Freeman and Mirando (Smith) Lyon. She was born 4 Jun 1838, Peru, VT, and died after 1880.

He resided Rindge, NH, and spent several years in California.
