John Snodgrass7 Whitney (John Merrick6, James Rex5, Caleb4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of John Merrick6 and Clarissa (Montgomery) Whitney; born Natchez, 19 Apr 1820; married Dec. 1844, in Jefferson County, Mississippi, Malissa Ann Coleman; died 24 May 1858. He died 20 Jul 1858. Resided Decatur, Illinois.
Children of John Snodgrass7 Whitney:
i. Lucy8 Whitney, born 8 Jul 1847, married 8 Oct 1868, W. O. Baldwin, Jr.; 8 ch; resided Canton, Mississippi. ii. Hattie Coleman Whitney, born 18 Jul 1854; married 1879, H. H. Coleman; 3 ch.; resided Canton. iii. Mary Clarissa Whitney, born 15 May 1858; married Feb. 1876, Samuel C. Divine. He d.s.p. at Canton, 20 Jan 1889.
