Jonathan Shearman8 Whitney (Ami7, Ami6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Ami7 and Ann (Shearman) Whitney, was born 7 Dec 1847, Flint Creek, NY, and died 16 Jun 1929, Hall, NY, aged 81 years.

He married, 24 Feb 1875, Cleveland, OH, Emma C. Crozier. She was born about 1852, NY, and died after 1880.

He resided with his parents at Flint Creek until 1871, when he removed to Wellington, KS. After two years he returned to his former home. After marriage, he resided on a farm in Gorham, NY, until 1880 when he removed to a farm in Flint Creek, NY. After living at this place for eight years he moved to Hall's Corners, NY, where he remained for a short time. In May 1889, he went to El Cajon, CA, where his family followed him in the following August. In 1894 he returned to Hall's Corners, NY; resided El Cajon, CA, and Hall's Corners, NY.

i. William Ami Jefferson9 Whitney, b. 15 Jan 1876; d. aft. 1900.
ii. George C. Whitney, b. 11 Jun 1877; d. aft. 1900, then in Rochester, NY.
iii. Anna Belle Whitney, b. 5 Dec 1879; d. 24 Dec 1879, Gorham, NY, aged 19 days of convulsions.[1]
