Joseph Dana8 Whitney (Alpheus7, Hananiah6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Alpheus7 and Abigail (?Case?) Whitney, was born about 28 Oct 1825, Winchendon or Watertown, MA, and died 11 Mar 1909, Paxton, MA, aged 76 years 4 months 13 days, of chronic fibroid phthsis.[1] He was buried in Paxton, MA.

He married, 29 Jul 1875, Oakham, MA, or 22 Sep 1875, Paxton, MA, Sophronia Lucretia Bemis, daughter of Tyler and Caroline A. (Brown) Bemis.[2]. She was born 29 Dec 1846, Paxton, MA, and died after 1920.
