Joshua6 Whitney (Thomas5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), born 27 Nov 1748; married Hannah Green, born 14 Sep 1748; died 17 Aug 1793. He died of yellow fever on his return journey from Philadelphia, where he had been to purchase merchandise, at Wind Gap, Pennsylvania. He died 26 Sep 1793; resided Nobletown and Binghamton, New York.

i. Joshua7 Whitney, born 24 Aug 1773; married Rhoda Jewell and Julia Crooker. ii. Sarah Whitney, born 8 May 1775; married William Guthrie. She died in Bainbridge, New York. iii. Thomas Whitney, born 5 Aug 1778; married Polly Gilbert. iv. John Whitney, born 31 Jun 1780; married ----- -----. v. Hannah Whitney, born 29 Jan 1782; married 2 Dec 1823, Dea. Samuel Stow. She died 27 Nov 1849. He was born 4 Apr 1787; died 13 Jul 1870. - Ch.: William Whitney, born 13 Sep 1824; married 4 Apr 1849; Alice E. Patterson. They have 6 ch. and 11 grandchildren; resided Pine St., San Francisco, California; Betsey, born 9 May 1826; died 20 May 1826.
