Joshua6 Whitney (Joshua5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Joshua5 and Mehitable (Wilson) Whitney,[1] was born 11 Nov 1758, Spencer, MA,[2], and died 18 Nov 1850, Pike, Allegany County, NY, but gravestone says 9 Dec 1849, aged 90 years. He was buried in Pike Cemetery, Pike, NY.[3]

He married firstly, 7 Jun 1781, Spencer, MA, Esther Prouty.[4] She was born 11 Jun 1764, Spencer, MA, and died in Langdon, NH.

He married secondly, 30 Oct 1794, Langdon, NH, Electa Sawtell,[5] daughter of Obadiah and Elizabeth (Adams) Sawtell. She was born 17 Apr 1776, Charlestown, NH, and died 22 Jan 1855, Pike, NY. She was buried in Pike Cemetery, Pike, NY.[6]
