Josiah⁵ Whitney (Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Nathaniel⁴ and Hannah (Day) Whitney, was baptized 7 Jun 1752, Biddeford, ME,^[1] and died 24 Feb 1837, Alfred, ME.^[2]

Marriage intentions were published 16 Sep 1775, Gorham, ME, for him and Elizabeth Harding.^[3] She was born 1749, and died 26 Apr 1841, Alfred, ME.

Josiah and wife Elizabeth joined the Shakers.
