He married firstly, 8 Aug 1801, Wolcott, VT, Tema (Taylor) Toby, daughter of Gamaliel Taylor of Norwalk. She was born 5 May 1771, Norwalk, CT, and died 24 Jan 1816, Wolcott, VT.
He married secondly, 22 Jun 1820, Wolcott, VT, Sarah Spaulding, his cousin, daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Jewett) Spaulding, of Windsor, VT. She was born 12 Jan 1788, Windsor, VT, and died 22 Sep 1868, Hyde Park, VT.
Phoenix says the following:
