Josiah S.⁶ Whitney (Jacob⁵, Benjamin⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Jacob⁵ and Hannah (Mills) Whitney, was born 1 Aug 1807, Phillips, ME,^[1] and died after 1880.

He married, 20 Apr 1833, Delton, Sauk Co., WI, Martha Barker. She died before 1860.

In 1875 he resided in Chippewa Falls, WI.

iv.	Orpha Cornellia Whitney, b. 20 Oct 1841, Phillips, ME; d. 15 May 1897; m. before 1860, Curtis Smith.
v.	Charles Ashley Whitney, b. 27 Dec 1843, Phillips, ME; m. Christina Gilbertson.
