Levi Russell⁸ Whitney (Ira⁷, Ephraim⁶, Aaron⁵, Samuel⁴, Richard³, John², Henry¹), son of Ira⁷ and Lydia (Bolt) Whitney, was born 20 Sep 1830, Kent, NY, and died after 1900.

He married, 3 Jul 1852, Patterson, NY, Phila Jane Ballard, daughter of Darius and Caroline (Eastwood) Ballard. She was born 20 Jan 1836, Lexington, NY, and died after 1900.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a miller . . . . They dwelt at Patterson for one year; at Ludingtonville, NY, twelve years; at Southeast, NY, one year; at Sherman, CT, one year; at Pawling, NY, three years; and, in 1874, had lived at Beekmanville, NY, for two years."

i.	John9 Whitney, b. ca. 1855, NY; d. after 1870; not mentioned by Phoenix.
