Lucy5 Whitney (Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), daughter of Daniel4 and Dorothy (Tainter) Whitney, was born 30 Jun 1749, Watertown, MA,[1], was baptized 2 Jul 1749, Watertown, MA,[2] and died 11 Dec 1814, Arlington, MA, aged 66 years.[3]

She "of Watertown" married firstly, 22 May 1766, Watertown, MA, Benjamin Dana "of Cambridge",[4] son of William and Mary (Green) Dana. He was born 6 Apr 1741, Cambridge, MA.

She married secondly, 2 Nov 1800, Watertown, MA, Samuel Whittemore, son of Lt. Samuel and Love (Stone) Whittemore, as his second wife. He was born 6 May 1748, West Cambridge, MA, and died 6 Nov 1822, West Cambridge, MA. He had married firstly, Elizabeth Wilson.

Pierce says the following:[5]

LUCY [WHITNEY], b. June 30, 1749; m. May 22, 1766, Benjamin DANA, of Cambridge, b. Apr. 6, 1741, son of William and Mary (GREEN) DANA. The date of her death seems to be very uncertain, for her gravestone at Arlington (formerly W. Cambridge) gives the date as follows: "Died at W. Cambridge, Dec. 11, 1814, aged 66," while some family papers say Dec. 18, 1814, and the histories of Watertown and Cambridge say, "Died Dec. 15, 1815, aged 65." By her second marriage she did not have any children. By the first marriage four children were born: William, Elisha Whitney, Anne and Jonathan.

Children of Benjamin and Lucy5 (Whitney) Dana:

i. William Dana, b. 1767; b. 1771, Newton, MA; d. 3 Jun 1799; m. 8 Dec 1796, Boston, MA, Elizabeth Davis.
