Lucy Emily Whitney (Eben Jennings7, Thomas6, Peter5, Josiah4, Josiah3, [prob.] Benjamin2, John1), daughter of Eben Jennings7 and Sarah (Boardman) Whitney, was born 5 Jun 1844, OH, and died 1926, Pratt Co., KS.

She married 23 Mar 1869, Knox Co., OH, William Rutledge Bailey, son of John Rutledge and Mary Ann (Colwill) Bailey. He was born 10 Nov 1846, Knox Co., Ohio, and died 4 Jul 1926, Pratt Co., KS.

Bill and Lucy Bailey moved from Knox Country, Ohio in ~1880 (They were in the Knox Country, Ohio census in 1880) and bought a farm in Pratt County, Kansas that was located 1 mile south and 1 mile east of where the current Fish Hatchery is. They came by train most of the may, maybe to Kingman, and from there by wagon to Pratt. They brought their wagons, horses and some machinery in a boxcar on the train with them. Bill and Lucy had 4 boys when they moved to Pratt and 1 more boy and 1 girl were born after they arrived. – From memories of Charles Bailey to the Pratt paper, November 23, 1990.
