Luther6 Whitney (Daniel5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel5 and Katy (Stone) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1781, Marlborough, MA,[1] and died 8 Jun 1822, Madrid, NY. He was buried in Madrid, NY.
He married Hannah Whitney, parentage unknown. She was born 27 Dec 1777, and died 8 Feb 1876, Toledo, OH.
Luther Whitney and his family removed from Adams, Massachusetts, to Madrid, New York, and later to Fairfield, New York. The highest point in New York State is near Fairfield on the old Whitney farm, where it is designated by a marker. Luther Whitney was a soldier in the War of 1812. She, as a widow, removed to Ohio in 1832, and died at Toledo 8 February 1876. Her parentage has not been traced.[2]

She was born 23 Dec 1821, and d. 5 Aug 1855, LaPorte, IN. He m.(2) Elizabeth Caine.
