Martin7 Whitney (James6, Benjamin5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James6 and Susannah (Hill) Whitney, was born 17 Jun 1787, Sherborn, MA,[1] and died 6 Jul 1850, North Attleborough, MA, aged 63 years 19 days, of disease of heart, saddler.[2]

He "of Bristol, R.I." married, 10 Dec 1810, Attleborough, MA, Nancy Orne "of Attleborough",[3] daughter of James and Esther (Everett) Orne. She was born 10 Jun 1787, Attleborough, MA, and died 20 Sep 1864, Attleborough, MA, aged 77 years 8 months, of old age.[4]

On 1801, Sherborn, MA, Isaac, Benjamin, and Martin Whitney, sons of James Whitney of Dover, who died June 1800, minors over 14, chose Capt. Peter Twitchell as guardian. On 15 Sep 1801, Sherborn, MA, Peter Twitchell, gentleman, of Sherborn was appointed guardian of Isaac, Benjamin, and James Whitney, sons of James Whitney, yeoman, late of Dover, Norfolk Co., and posted bond, with Daniel Whitney, Esq., and Timothy Hill, yeoman, both of Sherborn, as sureties.

He resided North Attleborough, MA.

iv. Ann Maria Whitney, b. 13 Dec 1821, Attleborough, MA;[9] d. 14 Mar 1888, Rock Island, IL; m. 31 Mar 1852 or 25 Mar 1852, Montpelier, VT, Elijah Carter;[10] resided Rock Island, IL. Son, Dr. Charles C., resided RI.
