Family:Whitney, Melvina Susan (1836-1879)

Melvina Susan⁷ Whitney (Benjamin Morse⁶, Micah⁵, Abel⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), daughter of Benjamin Morse⁶ and Susan (Wells) Whitney, was born 28 May 1836, Phillips, ME, and died 14 May 1879, New Vineyard, ME.

She married, 1 Jan 1860, Philips, ME, Joshua Richmond Adams,^[1] son of Joshua and Abigail Frost (Mosher) Adams. He was born 17 Jul 1833, Farmington, ME, and died 17 Mar 1904, prob. New Vineyard, ME.

Joshua R. Adams was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in Co. M of the 2nd Maine Cavalry. He received a pension from the U.S. government for his service.

Both Joshua and Melvina are buried in the Hackett-Notch Cemetery, New Vineyard, Maine.
