Nathan8 Whitney (David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of David7 and Sarah (Wilson) Whitney, was born 1793, Clarendon, VT, and died 7 Apr 1848, Franklin, VT, aged 55 years. He is buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.[1]

He married, 2 Jan 1817, Rutland, VT,[2] also reported as Clarendon, VT, Abigail8 Whitney, daughter of Oliver7 and Abigail (Crampton) Whitney. She was born about 1792, Canada, and died 18 Sep 1849, Franklin Co., VT, aged 57 (but gravestone says aged 50 years). She is buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.[3]

He was born in Clarendon, VT, but moved to Canada with his parents when quite young. He was a farmer and resided in Saint Armand, Canada, until his return to the states, when he settled in Franklin, VT. He was a Christian gentleman and a friend to every one. He resided Saint Armand, QC, and Franklin, VT.

a. Julia Elmina Hager, b. 1 Feb 1844; m. 28 Nov 1861, H. H. Eldred; resided East Enosburgh, VT.
b. Sarah Allen Hager, b. 7 Jun 1849; m. 20 Aug 1867, Dr. O. W. Roberts; resided 24 Thompson St., Springfield, MA.
iii. Abigail Whitney, b. 1820-1825; m. Rev. John B. Searles; resided Kent, NY, has one son and two daughters, all married.
iv. Oliver Cromwell Whitney, b. 26 Apr 1826; m.(1) Harriett R. Williams; m.(2) Josephine A. Parnell.
v. (son) Whitney, b. 1820-1830.
vi. John Whitney, b. 1820-1830. Not found in 1850 or later censuses.
vii. Nathan Whitney, b. 1820-1830. Not found in 1850 or later censuses.
viii. Harriett Rebecca Whitney, b. 6 May 1834; m. 13 Feb 1855, Sheldon, VT, Rev. William Wallace9 Whitney;[5] resided Linlithgo, NY.
