Norman8 Whitney (Salmon7, Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Salmon7 and Eliza (Sumner) Whitney, was born about 1818, Boston, MA, and died 10 Feb 1896, Philadelphia, PA, aged 77 years, of cancer.
He married, Apr 1861, and again on 30 Nov 1868, New Orleans, LA, Margaret (Fagan) Smith, daughter of Peter and Joanna (Smith) Fagan. She was born 17 Mar 1834, County Meath, Ireland, and died 4 Jan 1929, Orange, NJ.
They lived in New Orleans, LA, Dog Fennel, KY, and Philadelphia, PA. They apparently had no children. He was a veteran of the Mexican War, and his widow applied for a pension based on his service.
